What is the Million Mask March?
The marches, which are organised through Facebook groups, call for people to protest against mass government surveillance, internet censorship and ‘corrupt politicians who put capitalism before the people’.
Last year, 53 people were arrested for drugs, offensive weapons, criminal damage, public order offences and obstruction as they clashed with riot police in London.
It marked a huge spike from the year before, when just three arrests were made.
A post about the this year’s march, on the Facebook event, reads: “We have seen the abuses and malpractice of this government, and governments before it.
The march is held on November 5, also known as Guy Fawkes night – and he’s the face of the masks worn by Anonymous
“We have seen the encroaching destruction of many civil liberties we hold dear.
“We have seen the pushes to make the internet yet another part of the surveillance state.
“We have seen the government’s disregard for migrants, for the poor, the elderly and the Disabled.
“We have seen the capital, profit and greed of the few put before the well-being of the many and we say enough is enough…
“The government and the 1% have played their hand, now it is time to play ours. Expect us.”

When is the 2017 Million Mask March?
The march is taking place this Sunday (November 5).
That’s Guy Fawkes night, of course – and he’s the face of the masks worn by Anonymous, in the style of the film V for Vendetta.
The march in London starts at Trafalgar Square at 6pm.
The march is due to start at 6pm at Trafalgar Square in central London
Three people were arrested at the event in London in 2015 – and 53 last year
In previous years, the march has gone down past Whitehall, Downing Street and the Houses of Parliament.
The group are normally allowed to be ‘static’ by Trafalgar Square and by the Houses of Parliament.
Where can I watch the Million Mask March?
Events from across the globe will be broadcast live on the Million Mask March website.
A map to show the 2015 route included the permitted areas where the march can walk and stand
