UltiSat has secured a $4.7 million task order from the Defense Information Systems Agency to provide Ku-based satellite services for U.S. Pacific Command missions that use the Global Hawk unmanned air vehicle.

The task order was issued under the Future Comsatcom Services Acquisition vehicle jointly managed by DISA and the General Services Administration, UltiSat said Monday.

Steve Roth, a program director at UltiSat, said the company aims to continue its role on the U.S. military’s Global Hawk program as a satellite communications service provider within USPACOM’s theater of operations.

Roth added the effort aligns with the company’s portfolio of airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance service offerings.

Gaithersburg, Maryland-based also offers broadband networking, digital telephony, video-on-demand and enterprise data services to military and government clients.
