Officers from Avon and Somerset Police think he may have been involved in a road traffic collision after leaving the West Fest music festival.
The event had been taking place at the nearby Bath and West Showground.
The man’s body was found on the A37 near the Cannards Well pub, where he was spotted by several people driving along the road.
Authorities want to speak to the occupants of two vehicles – one white car driven by a man, and another car containing at least three women.
