Chris Cummiskey, a former DHS official, has been named a Senior Advisor to the Homeland Security & Defense Business Council. Council Senior Advisors consist of a select group of experts, most of whom are former high-level public officials who possess unique expertise in the Homeland Security Enterprise.
“The individuals who serve as Senior Advisors play a critical role in helping our organization identify and develop high-quality industry-government initiatives for the benefit of our corporate members and the government officials with whom we engage,” said Marc Pearl, Council President & CEO. “Chris Cummiskey has and continues to demonstrate the qualities we cherish in our Senior Advisors, and are looking forward to utilizing his exceptional perspectives, as well as his deep understanding of the need for strong engagements across the Homeland Security Enterprise to help achieve mission success.”
Cummiskey served for almost six years at DHS as Deputy Under Secretary for Management and Acting Under Secretary for ove a year. He currently runs his own consulting firm, Cummiskey Strategic Solutions, LLC, specializing in cybersecurity, information technology, and management. Before moving to Washington to serve at DHS, Chris was the State of Arizona’s CIO. He also spent two terms as a State Representative and four as a State Senator in the Arizona State Legislature,, where he was recognized as a leader in emerging technologies, economic development, and education reform.
