Brave Enterprise, the business support organisation, is hosting a free cyber-security workshop in Bristol to teach small business owners how to stay protected against online threats.
The half-day workshop on 7 November is taking place at BRAVE’s offices on Upper York Street, Bristol.
The cyber-security session will be presented by Joanne Bocko of Avon and Somerset Police who will offer top tips to help small businesses stay safe online and thrive. Topics covered will include threats such as phishing and vishing (email and phone fraud), ransomware and password protection.
Liz Sands of BRAVE Enterprise said: “Small businesses and self-employed people are big targets for hackers and the financial implications can be crippling. Gone are the days of thinking ‘It’ll never happen to us’.
“In a recent government survey, 45 per cent of micro and small businesses said they’d identified a cyber-security breach or attack in the last year. But you can keep your business safe and protect against online threats by putting some simple measures in place. This free workshop will show you how.”
Booking in advance is essential.
