In order to sow seeds of new endeavours for women officers in the force, Indian Army is now working on a plan that will have women officers deployed as cyber warriors.
Army Chief Gen Bipin Rawat along with his team of experts want to induce this practice in the system as soon as possible in a bid to use the skills of women officer vigorously.
“The force has plans of utilising the women officers more effectively in new cadres such as cyber which is a fast emerging trade in the armed forces as they face a major cybersecurity threat from both state and nonstate actors,” said a source, reports Mail Today.
Cyber warfare is turning out to be a big challenge for the Indian forces, especially the threats from countries like China and Pakistan. Therefore, the selection of women in these cells will not only create more opportunities for them but will also be able to use their expertise to full potential.
These women officers will further be trained to understand the language and architecture of the given field, to enhance their permanent commission in the area.
